  • A ringtone old people can not hear

The New York Times writes in this article about a ringtone only young people can hear. It is a very high frequency beep (17 kHz) that only the young ones can hear since “most adults gradually lose the ability to hear high-pitched sounds”

See if you can hear the ringtone for young people here:

    17kHz ringtone

I had a hard time hearing the ringetone, so I feel very old right now.

I have, however, another high pitched ringtone that I do hear. Not sure of the frequency, but it is very annyoing:

    Beep

I have to say that I am not using any of these (and can´t really understand anyone who does), so I will share one I am using for SMS. The very nostalgic Super Mario “Power Up” sound:

    Mario Get Big

If you think all of this is useless and silly, why not use your phone as a shaver? Play this sound and pretend to be shaving – I promise you, this is fun at least 1-2 times…after that it gets a bit sad:

    Shaver

  • Syncronizing iCal with LG KU990 Viewty

I´ve bought a new phone – the LG KU990 Viewty

Very early on, I realised I had a problem – syncing it with iCal was not easy. After a few hours of browsing the web, I´ve found a solution. I am sharing it here:

Simply put, I installed a small program I found here: http://ical2viewty.blogspot.com/

You can find fairly detailed instructions on the page, but I ran in to a few problems, so I´m posting full install instructions here. Please notice that I have nothing to do with the development of this script – I am only a very thankful user – all credit goes to Pat from Basel

iCal2Viewty is a great little program, but there are a few issues.

First off – it is not a two-way sync, it simply exports your iCal entries to the phone. Also, you will have to delete your entire phone calender before you export (every time).

  • Tim Minchin – If You Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out (Take My Wife)

Being a person educated in the traditional sciences, I feel I have a fairly healthy approach to things like astrology, mind reading and religion. I also feel I have a fairly open mind :) I guess that is why I enjoyed Tim Minchin´s song: If You “Open Your Mind Too Much Your Brain Will Fall Out (Take My Wife)”

  • A tiny frog

I just met this tiny frog in the woods. He was hiding well among the autumn leaves, but I managed to get a few shots of him.

  • Tiny cars in Budapest

    smallcar.jpg

Budapest is a very nice city. So many things to see and do, but it´s still fairly small and very accessible – just stay away from the taxis :)

When I visited Budapest, I noticed a lot of very nice cars. Mercedes ML 63 AMG, CL 63 AMG, Audi S4, S8, Ferrari 360 Modena, lots of WRX´s and even a Ford Mondeo ST220 – you don´t see many of those. Even tough the city was full of nice cars, it was these little autos that made me smile the most. Here is my collection of tiny cars in Budapest.

  • The real japanese priority seating sign

    jsign1.jpg

This is a great sign, and we all laugh at how the Japanese could end up with showing the cycle of life, instead of clearly telling us to give up our seats to those in need.

    Sadly, this is fake….

  • Ascaris – a little friend inside?

    Ascaris-2.jpg

1,3 billion people go trough their life with worms in their small intestine. The worm typically infects you when you eat food (typically pork) containing worm eggs. From your stomach the larva is released, and travels via your blood to the lung tissue.
